Francesca Ceccacci began her scientific activity working in the field of chiral recognition in membrane models, such as micelles and liposomes at the Chemistry Department of the University of Rome Sapienza. She graduated (magna cum laude) on July 19th 2000 at the University Sapienza with a dissertation on the “Role of the chiral nitrogen in the deracemization of atropoisomers in molecular aggregates”.
In 2004 she received her Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences from the University of Rome Sapienza, discussing the thesis “Chiral recognition in membrane models”.
In 2004 she joined as a Post-Doc the group of Prof. Rinaldo Marini Bettolo at the Chemistry Department of University of Rome Sapienza and began working in the field of the synthesis of natural bioactive compounds. In these years, collaborating with various pharmaceutical industries, she was engaged in the synthesis of novel compounds with potential pharmacological activity.
A subsequent collaboration with Prof. Mario Brufani of the Department of Biochemical Science of University of Rome Sapienza allowed her to work on an interdisciplinary project, dealing with the synthesis of novel locally active estrogenic compounds for wound healing, in collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry Euticals.
From 2006 to 2008 she has been also a tutor for the Inorganic Chemistry courses of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Rome Sapienza.
From 2014 she is researcher at the Institute of Chemical Methodologies of the National Research Council.
