Analysis lab of natural and synthetic organic compounds in complex matrices
The main activity of the laboratory is focused on the implementation of validated analytical methods to determine wanted or unwanted components, natural or synthetic, in environmental (air, water, soil), food, biological and pharmaceutical matrices. After appropriate sampling, the sample’s clean-up, depending on the complexity and nature of the matrix is optimized and developed. The subsequent instrumental analyses, according to the chemical-physical characteristics of the analytes to be identified and/or quantified, range from the use of gas chromatography coupled to FID and mass spectrometry, to
classic HPLC and UPLC combined with traditional detectors (UV, DAD, fluorimetric) to those of tandem mass spectrometry. The overview of the separation techniques is completed by capillary electrophoresis, in different working modes, combined with the UV-diode array detector.
