Laboratory of Asymmetric Synthetic Methods of Natural Organic Compounds and Bioactive Products
The laboratory is equipped for the preparation of small/medium sized new molecules by original procedures of asymmetric synthesis. It is endowed with traditional devices for organic synthesis, which allow to run experiments in a wide range of temperatures (-100°C< T < 200 °C) and experimental conditions. It is also equipped with HPLC instrument with chiral stationary phases for the analysis of enantiomeric excess of scalemic mixtures and with a polarimeter for the measure of optical rotation. The research activity deals with the development of new and efficient methods of asymmetric synthesis for the preparation of natural products and novel intermediates with high biological and/or pharmacological impact bearing aromatic carbo- and heterocycles.
